240 children from very diverse backgrounds engaged with renowned local artist Zarah Hussain in workshops on the theme of Maths and Art, focusing on Islamic patterns. The workshops provided a rare opportunity for Muslim children to interact positively and with pride with their peers around their culture. By visiting Zarah Hussain’s mural off Walthamstow High Street, the children also saw that Islamic Art is contemporary and relevant.
