Soul Fire Sundays and Congregate 2019/21

Soul Fire Sundays enabled Soul City Arts to test and refine the elements of what has become its “signature” event (the interaction of community participation, live art and food. Invited artists painted live on mini-stages, engaging with audiences (including many Muslim families) who sketched on the tables, shared cross-cultural stories and enjoyed delicious curry together. Interrupted by the pandemic, Soul City Arts took these elements online, livestreaming Congregate from a gallery at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.
