Grassroots community organisation, Apna, with support from local arts organisation, Horse & Bamboo, displayed a large-scale installation by Muslim artist Maryam Golubeva centred on a laser-cut paper carpet evoking the Silk Road. Its showcasing in Haslingden’s Methodist Church as part of the Rossendale Literature Festival facilitated multiple reflective encounters between different local communities.
