Overview

Through our Amal Connects programme we work with three groups of stakeholders – communities, artists, and arts and cultural organisations – to grow opportunities for Muslim communities to realise and express their full creative potential and to share and celebrate this creativity with others.

In our hub locations of Birmingham and Bradford we facilitate these stakeholders to deliver co-created arts and culture projects, including by helping communities to visualise the range of creative opportunities that could be accessible to them (for example, through participatory workshops) and by connecting stakeholders to each other (for example, a community group to an artist).

Applying for funding

Amal provides funding for projects which have been co-created with communities in Birmingham and Bradford. You may apply for funding if you are a community, arts/cultural or other organisation with a developed proposal that meets our eligibility and funding criteria. See the Apply section for these criteria as well as additional information on the application process including our Expression of Interest form.

Connecting with us

Community groups may have ideas for co-created projects but need our help in matching those ideas with delivery partners. You may just want to participate in our Creative Visualisation activities. If so, we invite you to express your interest using the online form for community groups in the Connect section.

Artists may have ideas for co-created projects but need our help in matching those ideas with communities interested in pursuing them and perhaps also with arts organisations. You may also have ideas for sessions you could deliver with communities to help them visualise their creative potential. If so, we invite you to express your interest using the online form for artists in the Connect section.

Arts and cultural organisations may have ideas for co-created projects but need our help in matching those ideas with communities interested in pursuing them and perhaps also with Muslim artists needed in the delivery of the projects. You may also have ideas for sessions you could deliver with communities to help them visualise their creative potential or you may wish to offer your spaces to platform work coming out of co-created projects and to host events around this showcasing for the wider community.  If so, we invite you to express your interest using the online form for arts organisations in the Connect section.
