Amal Communications Manager

Start date: As soon as possible
Reporting to: Amal Programme Manager
Hours per week: 35 hours per week, Mondays to Fridays
Salary: £35k p.a (negotiable)
Two-year fixed term post with a possibility of extension; six month probationary period

Are you passionate about arts and culture and have an understanding of Muslim communities in the UK? We are seeking a creative, established and solution-based individual to join our small and energetic team. If you have demonstrable experience as a communications professional in an art or related field, then we’d love to hear from you.

Amal is a programme of the Saïd Foundation making grants in the UK in support of a rich diversity of arts projects and activities, including storytelling, visual arts, theatre, poetry, film, music and dance.

This role will manage the delivery of Amal’s communications strategy to better engage key stakeholders and develop creative ideas to raise the profile of Amal’s work and that of its partners. This role will ensure consistency of branding and communication, as well as overseeing the design of all promotional materials.

The successful candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable communicating with a range of stakeholders. Website competence and social media management experience and fluency in Adobe Suite (particularly Photoshop and InDesign) as well as the full Microsoft Office Suite are essential for this role, as is the ability to implement successful marketing strategies across the board. Applicants should demonstrate an understanding of audiences, marketing-solutions and strong analytical skills.
